For our very first LAB event of 2019, we are excited to have Anne Cooper, workshop how to navigate a long term career in coffee.
With over 23 years working in the Coffee Industry, Anne has gained experience in many areas of the industry - as Barista, Café Owner/Manager, National Trainer & Assessor, to Head Roaster & Roasting Production Manager - from a grass roots level through to a national and international corporate level.
Anne was Head Roaster at Proud Mary Coffee and then Axil Coffee Roasters in Melbourne. She also took on the role as Head Judge for the Golden Bean Roasting Competition - the largest roasting competition in the southern hemisphere and a competition that she has also won twice.
Anne's prolific coffee career has allowed her to develop extensive skills and knowledge with a wide range of roasting machines (from large scale commodity roasters to specialty roasters), various roasting techniques and industry relevant processes and protocols.
In this workshop we invite you to join us in hearing her insights about the pathways for baristas, managers and other hospitality staff who want guidance in discerning the next steps in their coffee career. This will be facilitated by some discussion and Q&A time.
The night will be a chance to interact with other coffee professionals including green bean importers, baristas and roasters.
We are stoked to team up with our friends at Stomp Coffee to bring the party. We will have American style smoked chicken with sides of corn, slaw, beans, and more! To quench your thirst we've landed beers from the team at Colonial Brewery & local wines from Skigh in Margaret River.
